Adobe Illustrator Draw App Reviews

I must be missing something but when drawing a rectangle using the shape tool, it seems like you can only modify two things to get the shape you want: overall size, and proportion - meaning height and width at the same time. Theres no way to modify a rectangle just in one dimension, and that makes it nearly impossible to fit a rectangle to a particular open space (like I want to do for comics). Its mystifyingly awful. Other than that, for me, its nice.

This program is great for creating on the go. You never know when inspiration strikes and you dont want to be without this app when it does. I would like more layers available but 5 is enough to get by. And for illustrating and paper lovers, Capture is an amazing app to go with it.

I am in love with this app, but I realized that its hard without an Airbrush. Hopefully it will be added to the new update! Itll make the app a lot easier to use. Thank you.

I have had it for less than a day and cant manage to leave it alone. It is the best drawing app in the App Store. Soooo many amazing features cant wait to see what else they add in the future!

I love making cartoons with this app

Ill admit the Illustrator integration works like magic and makes me wish the rest of the app performed better. Id use it all the time if there were more nuanced tools. And the pressure sensitivity seems to be all over the map (using Apple Pencil on iPad Pro). I hope it improves, as Id love to integrate this deeper into my workflow. As for now, it seems a little simplistic. (Compare it to the app Paper, for instance, and theres quite a chasm between the two.)

Way too little documentation and tutorial. Just a time-consuming guessing game.

For no reason it denied me access

This app along with the Apple Pencil are amazing tools to make your designs much more personalized. Love the app!!!!

This is probably the best app on my phone.

Im not an artist...more of a doodler, but I just got the iPad Pro 9.7 with Apple Pencil and I love, love ,love drawing with it, and love the layers and the photo layer...makes me look like an artist. I cant put it down!

It deleted my cartoon,denied my signing in,really confusing,glitches and has terrible tools

I wish there is a way to lock layers. Its a major disappointment when you spend a lot of time on a layer and you accidentally erase it and the undo button doesnt bring it back. Add that and Id be happy!

I love the coloring and stuff, but one big problem is that you cant move the layers to the top or to the bottom. We really need that, especially for the photo layer. Like, lets just say that if we want to color a picture and we set that picture as the photo layer, we cant color it without coloring over the outline because the photo layer is always at the bottom. Please fix this!!! I really like using this app to color.

Ive been looking for an app like this for a long time! This is fantastic on an iPad Pro with Apple Pencil for inking drawings. And I love that its vectors. There are a few things Id like to see added in the future, hence the 4 stars. A selection tool would be awesome. Also the ability to lock your layers. But overall this app is fantastic.

I can make myself into a cartoon

Im very new to the iPad (less than 24hrs), first one is a full size pro. I got the pencil as well and have been playing on the Adobe apps all day. Very responsive and very cool, I havent delved into everything yet so I may have to come back in the future and update my review. One issue I have is that you cant move the art. You can move each layer but half way through an illustration its very hard to line everything back up. A direct select tool would be fantastic, or maybe being able to link layers together, anything that would keep them together when moved. Another issue is that you when you zoom in its very hard to zoom back out to original size. Other than that. Awesome app.

Alright Devs, credit where credit is due. Update 4/20/16 I have officially ditched Ideas and now use Draw for all my digital art. Des seem to be steadily improving the app to the point that my only complaint is that the app still snaps to the center of the drawing randomly. I have a wish list of additions, but really a solid app. Update 12/8/15 Still not 100% ready to switch completely over, however, this app is quickly becoming better than Ideas. Who knows why the dev rolled things out like they did but it seems the terrible star rating may have lit a fire. Wish list: The ability to add multiple photos to the photo layer. Gradients!!! Ability to use brushes from Capture ---- Original Review Though its taken months this app finally has an eye dropper. I have yet to find it, but Im very very happy its there. As well as compatibility with the Pencil by 53. Give us undo/redo buttons please I really like the new gestures but swiping to undo 27 times is ridiculous. (We got an undo button!!) As far as bug fixes Ive been on the app for ten minutes and the zoom making you snap to center is still a real issue. (This is still happening, its a pain!) Truly free form vector drawing has become a favorite art form and I want this app to be better than its predecessor.
